NEW EDITION 2013, extensively revised
The K2 and Baltoro Glacier Satellite Image Map 1:80 000, second edition, appeared in early July 2013.
The basis is an image acquired by the satellite SPOT 4 from the height of ca. 820 km with ground resolution of 10 m per pixel, delivered and processed by Geosystems-Polska.
All composition, added data and identification of all named or measured points is by Grzegorz Glazek.
The map covers the area of about 74 x 58 km and is centered approximately 5 kilometers to south west from the top of K2. The names and spot heights are given in color.
The size of the symbols of peaks roughly indicate the relative prominence of the mountain, in other words how big is the altitude difference between the summit and the col separating it from any higher peak
(the biggest symbols are for the difference of about 1000 meters or more while the smallest ones are for 50 meters or less).
There are also denoted trek routes, usual campsites and seasonal settlements. The longitude and lattitude are described on margins with the 10' (ten angular minutes) intervals.
The map legend is in English. It includes also small glossary (in Urdu, Balti and Chinese), bibliography on the main sources of the names and heights as well as some further technical details about the satellite image.
The K2 and Baltoro Glacier, Satellite Image Map 1:80 000, second edition, was published by the Master Topo, Warsaw, Poland, in July 2013 with ISBN 978-83-64147-00-5. Format 99 x 68 cm (39 x 27 inches), B1.
There are two versions: folded (with strong transparent pocket 13 x 24 cm, ca. 5 x 10 in.) and rolled one. Both versions of this edition are on the same paper of moderate thickness (so called 115 g per square m).

What's new in the second edition
Brief comparison with the first edition:
Now on the map there are over 1730 peaks and remarkable towers identified as well as almost 290 passes, cols and notches. In the first edition there was about 1020 peaks and 160 cols respectively (for exact numbers see here).
So, "in the terms of numbers", one can say that is about 60-70 percent of increase of the number of identified terrain objects (but most of newly added objects are of minor size, less prominent compared to former ones).
Many new added culminations are given with approximate height. However, the number of really new names or newly identified names is only a few dozens and of course the number of names of glaciers and rivers stays practically unchanged.
The trek trails are updated and couple new recently used campsites on that treks are added.
Some heights from Soviet military maps are added when lack the data from other sources. The system of subtle encoding the sources of given heights is developed (see the legend of the map). Also some reliable GPS reports are taken into account.
Additionaly usual amendments are made and some heights revised. For example, the altitude of Ghondogoro Pass is revised as actually lower at about 300 meters than formerly described, in accordance with GPS observations of many trekkers crossing that frequented col.

Reviews and opinions
[highlights in dark red - by MasterTopo]:
• The map has review in American Alpine Journal which ends with the following sentence:
"They would do well to use Grzegorz Glazek's K2 and Baltoro Glacier map as a model."
(AAJ 2005, pp. 459-460, links to original pdfs included).

• The map was announced earlier in British monthly High (no. 258, May 2004, pp. 59, 60) in its division MountainINFO,
and was finally reviewed later in the Climb (no. 7, Sept 2005, p. 73) where the MountainINFO division migrated.
• On the website of The Mountain Company,
the British organizer of treks along Baltoro via Ghondogoro La to Hushe, one can find the following opinion
in the broad trip dossier about the trek:
"K2 and Baltoro Glacier Satellite Image Map 1:80,000 (Geosystems) –
this is the best map of the area with superb satellite photography. (...) I will bring this map along on the trek"
(the review of maps is in the pdf file
TMC K2 BaseCamp and GondogoroLa TripDossier, p. 27 of 32, links to original pdf file included).

• The second, 2013 edition is used as the leading source and has very positive opinion on the most detailed website on Himalaya topography, himalaya-info.org (in German),
"Eine sehr gute Karte ist (...) »K2 and Baltoro Glacier 1:80.000« von Grzegorz Glazek." [1], [2].

Major added or corrected elements in the second edition (roughly from left to right):
- The sources for heights are more fine distinguished and subtly marked in 6 ways (in 1st edition were in 2 ways less, compare the map legends).
Additional sources have been used for less surveyed area and added to the bibliography in the legend.

- In the area of Liligo Peaks, Etwar Peak (Atwa) and Ching Kang river
(south of Biaho Lungma river flowing from the Baltoro Glacier), added heights of dozen of peaks and passes, many of newly identified culminations denoted
(among them a few major peaks identified, previously recognized only from the south).

- On the south-west and western slopes and ridges of Choricho massif and on the east side of lower part of Panmah/Dumordo valley, added heights of dozen of major peaks and important passes, many of newly identified culminations denoted.

- In the Trango massif and above the lower part of Trango Glacier smaller, recently christened rocky towers have been identified and denoted, for example Garden Peak,
Severance Ridge, Little Shipton Spire.

- On the surroundings of Surgus, Feriole, uppper Trango, Chiring and LLakhmo (upper Sarpo Laggo) Glaciers added heights of dozen of smaller peaks and few important passes,
at least 2 of them crossable (there is area more frequented by skialpinists recently); many culminations newly identified.
- In the divide of lower Sarpo Laggo and South Skamri Glaciers added many identified culminations with heights, mostly approximated.
- Ghondogoro La area: the height of the pass has been appeared lower for about 300 meters
(correction thanks to reliable photo & GPS reports, the overestimation of the height was also observed by many other parties),
heights of couple nearby minor peaks down-corrected, some newly identified smaller peaks denoted.

- Broad Peak and K2 area: small culminations have been added, mostly on the S slopes of K2 (including Abruzzi Ridge) and N slopes of Broad Peak,
new opened trekking summit of Pastore Pk (Khalkhal Peak East) and its Base Camp denoted.

- Skyang Peaks: added names of some peaks and two crossable pass added, dozens of newly identified culminations denoted and made some correction in the hierarchy of peaks.
- Aghil Mountains: added names of three major peaks and important pass, big cave with river denoted
(thanks to TurKlubMai and their photo & GPS reports), dozens of newly identified culminations denoted and some heights corrected thanks to Soviet military maps and available the better panoramas.

- For the Sagan Peaks and the divide between Urdok and Staghar Glaciers: dozen points and heights have been added and more precise identification made,
heights corrected thanks to Soviet military maps and better panoramas available.
- Indira Col and Mount Hardinge: re-elaborated the hierarchy of three main cols, added dozens heights and newly identified culminations, some corrections of former data made.
